Brackets Dude

My interest (which I was VERY interested, actually) in March Madness completely disappeared on Saturday around 11 pm.  Why you may ask, well that is because my Buckeyes let a 13 point lead disappear.  But, alas, I still love them and am just glad I didn't go to New Orleans.  Because I would have been that much more disappointed!

So, no, I did not watch the championship game.  Well that's not actually completely true, because I was really pulling for Kentucky of course, I mean if my bucks are gone, better cheer for my houseboat neighbors' team.  But I wasn't watching it intently.  And I didn't really care.

Anyways, my bracket struggled all along, but really struggled after Saturday.  There's always next March, though!

#201: Craft "pfft'ed" at the thought of leaving OSU for the pro's.  I love that we get him another year.
#202: OSU got recognition from several sports teams this weekend for being an always strong academic and athletic presence.
#203: By the way, I attend the number one social work school in the United States.  (brushing my shoulders off as I type).
#204: Clients making visible and obvious progress in treatment.  And the feeling of accomplishment at the sight of their joy and social engagement.
#205: Puppies.  I love my scarlet doodle and my boom-dog.  And I love that they're always so excited to see me, no matter what.

Urban Meyer!!

I love the Buckeyes, I do I do I do.  And as a Wolverine, I am aware of the dichotomy.  But I still love my Buckeyes....

And I am pleased to announce the arrival of URBAN MEYER.

Which I totally predicted back in June. No joke. Family connections with the Meyer's. No joke.

Watch and witness a football legend...

Never Underestimate

...the BUCKEYES!!!

I love my Buckeyes.  I really do.  And I love my Wolverines.  Trust me, it can happen.  But the Wisconsin/OSU game was out of this world on Saturday night.

I was babysitting (3yr old triplets and a 17mth baby) on Saturday night so after the kiddos went to bed I got to do some reading (have I mentioned how much reading I do every week?) and watch the best football game ever.

I have to mention, too, that I don't like Wisconsin.  Every time I see a team I like play them, I like them less and less; so seeing Wisconsin lose is way fun.  And seeing them lose with only 28 seconds to go...much more fun!

I hope you watched the game...you would have been on the edge of your seat because it was CRAY CRAY!

#37: Sports are fun.  I love watching my favorite teams and watching them work so hard to make their fans smile and cheer.  Did you hear that horseshoe crowd on saturday!?
#38: Winning.  I don't care how ridiculous this is, but I am much happier after my teams win.
#39: Children.  I love them.  I really do.  Orchard with the children pictures to come.  Then you'll understand why.
#40: Huron River Dr. in Ann Arbor is the prettiest road I have driven on, especially with all of the Fall colors.  Take the time.  Do it.

Welcoming in October

Well, it's official.  Only 2 months until December 1st.  Which is only 25 days until Christmas.  To me, October signals the beginning of a season filled with holidays! Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years are all so close that it feels like a blur, really.  But I'm so excited!!

I spent the last day of September hanging out with great friends and watching Michigan kick ass on the field.  And then later watching MSU and OSU look confused on the field.  So interesting (and depressing to see my buckeyes so lost).  It was a great day and I am so grateful to have spent quality time, not just rushed school time, in my favorite little city, Ann Arbor.

it was so cold...but so worth it! We were a bit late (thankfully) but thoroughly enjoyed the cheers and the laughs.  But we definitely didn't enjoy the wind.  That's for sure.  Oh so fun otherwise :)
He just really wanted to be in the picture.  So we let him be, but with the consequence of being a bunny.  P.s. check out the chick behind Denise.  She looks unsettled.

Lions, Tigers, Wolverines and Buckeyes

Despite my lack of athletic ability, I really like sports.  Even though no one would ever want me to play on their football, baseball or any other team, I have a decent knowledge base of sport info.  I can explain the game of football to someone with relative ease, and even though I don't really understand baseball...I can act like I do with effortless grace.

This weekend, amongst my hours of homework and babysitting, I have watched a tigers game, lions game, michigan game and a buckeye game.  And it's all been great.  The wolverines won, the buckeyes won and the tigers are currently winning and the lions have come back from 0-20 to make the score 23-20 with only a few minutes left in the 4th quarter.  And even though I think pro sports are weird because it is a bunch of old men running around, it is so exciting to see the Lions actually as a successful sports team! They're 2 and 0 and are hopefully going to make it 3 and 0 within a few minutes.  Of course if not, that'll be all sorts of typical and sad.

Why am I writing about sports?  Because it is an amazing way to connect with people.  Whether I'm connecting with my baby brother, the kids I babysit, or friends...it is always fun and always a good excuse to have a beer.

Now I need to get back to homework, work, and watching the Lions.  Did I mention I love multitasking?

The Holiday's at OSU

...were I'm assuming, not so pleasant.  Scandal after scandal broke out surrounding Quarterback Pryor and 4 other players (including Posey, one of my favs).  The players have been suspended for the first 5 games of the season next year...but are allowed (likely because of money) to play in the bowl TONIGHT.  The University is fighting the suspensions, claiming they're a bit harsh, but nonetheless, the boys are in trouble.

Why is it, though, that OSU is constantly targeted?  They have an amazing athletic (check out their basketball team this year...they're nearly unstoppable) and great academics.  The make millions of dollars for the league and are honestly one of few teams that is ever able to show up from the Big Ten.  All I know is that if the NCAA is going to crack down on stupid rules then they should crack down on them within every team.

As I watch the game tonight, I will be hoping for a win (of course).  As I was just accepted into the OSU Social Grad Program, I am hoping to see what the bucks have to offer, at least on screen.  For now I leave you with
